Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina

Alliance Power was selected to install a 1,000 KW fuel cell cogeneration system at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina on Harbor Island in San Diego, California. The system will consist of four 250-KW molten carbonate fuel cell modules operating on natural gas fuel, and will use the recovered exhaust energy to heat the resort swimming pool. Alliance Power is providing complete privatization services for the project, including all permitting, design, construction, operation and financing.

This project is the first to be performed under the Starwood Master Energy Services Agreement, which was intended to enable fuel cell installations at multiple Starwood facilities nationwide. The facility will be operational in the fall of 2005.
