Colton, California

The
Drews generation project is a 42 MW simple-cycle power plant
on the Drews substation owned by the City of Colton. The
project consists of four General Electric model 10B1 simple-cycle
gas turbines rated at 10.5 MW each, along with associated equipment.
The
Drews project lies in a highly sensitive area for several endangered
species. Habitat for the Los
Angeles pocket mouse and Delhi Sands Flower-loving fly surrounds
the Drews substation. Alliance Power limited construction
to the existing substation and along existing roads. This reflects Alliance
Power's commitment to the environment and was in accordance with
USFWS requirements.
